On October 14th, hundreds of brilliant Head Girls and young leaders from across Nigeria gathered under one roof, united by the theme “Lead. Build. Innovate.” From the opening session, the room pulsed with excitement. Students came ready to learn; leaders came ready to pour out wisdom.
Leadership Through Innovation: Where Nation-Building Begins

This year’s conference wasn’t about sitting still and listening; it was about doing. Through practical sessions, experience sharing, and immersive learning sessions, participants explored what it truly means to lead with innovation. They gained tools to think critically, collaborate effectively, and build ideas that solve real-world problems.
The highlight of the day? The National Head Girl Competition finale. The top five finalists representing Lagos, Abuja, Minna, and Anambra stepped on stage to pitch community-impact projects they had developed over weeks of mentorship and teamwork.
After a powerful round of presentations, Chibueze Chinenyenwa Jennifer from Saint John Vianney Science College, Anambra, emerged the winner, taking home the ₦1 million grand prize to scale her innovative project. Her Project tagged, Immunization Tracking System
The Why? = Equipping Female Leaders
For four years, WILAN Global has championed the National Head Girl Conference as a platform for grooming and building a pipeline of young female leaders. This year, the focus expanded beyond leadership, embracing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) as a foundation for collaboration and collective growth.

Our keynote speaker shared her personal leadership journey, reflecting on how her love for science shaped her career and worldview. She praised the girls’ innovations, affirming that “the future is bright, and female.”

This powerful discussion reunited former Head Girls who are now thriving in various sectors. They shared the lessons their badges taught them, from responsibility to humility and empathy, and how those lessons continue to shape their personal and professional journeys.
Male Allyship Chat: Boys Leading with Responsibility
In a refreshing twist, the conference also spotlighted male allies. This conversation highlighted the need for young men to be intentional about taking responsibility for their actions and ensuring that every decision leads to them
