About the position:
WILAN Global Organization seeks experienced consultants to serve as Leadership Project Reviewers (LPRs) for cohort members working on Leadership Projects (LPs). This role is ideal for professionals with deep expertise in public health and a strong background in supporting women in leadership.
As an LPR, you will provide constructive feedback, coaching, and strategic guidance to mid-career women leaders as they develop and refine their leadership projects. You will help ensure that their initiatives are well-structured, impactful, and aligned with their leadership goals.
This position requires strong mentorship skills, a commitment to women’s empowerment, and the ability to offer insightful recommendations that enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of leadership projects.
Key Responsibilities
Assist WILAN in refining and finalizing the project proposal deliverables template and feedback rubric.
Lead or co-lead a drop-in Leadership Project Overview session (1-hour) for cohort members in months 1-2.
Host a Leadership Project Deliverables Clarification session (1-hour) in months 3-4, helping cohort members refine their projects and implementation plans.
Review, evaluate, and provide structured feedback on 30 Leadership Project Deliverables.
Provide individualized feedback on project scope, scale, stakeholder involvement, and alignment with leadership principles.
Suggest relevant resources, publications, stakeholders, and potential organizations for project support.
Identify commonalities among projects and facilitate peer learning and exchange.
Host group drop-in office hours (1-2 sessions, 1 hour each) to discuss feedback with participants.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proven experience providing constructive feedback and coaching to mid-career professionals.
Strong understanding of challenges faced by women in leadership and a track record of supporting their professional growth.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Effective presentation and facilitation skills.
Strong familiarity with the global health landscape and key actors influencing health policy and implementation in Nigeria.
Share overall feedback via a debrief meeting with the regional team after the Leadership Project reviews.
Requirements:
Minimum 15-20 years of experience in public health in Nigeria, covering areas such as policy, practice, and/or research.
Experience supporting women’s leadership development and advancing gender equality in professional settings.
Strong background in program planning, assessment, implementation, and monitoring & evaluation (MEL).
Experience working in multinational or regional public health organizations.
Demonstrated ability to work across government, NGOs, and private sector health initiatives.
Knowledge of funding mechanisms and grant opportunities available to health professionals in leadership roles
